hey all, i wanna know if any of you have ever had experience with bonnet vents feeding cold air into a pod filter? and if you have...how did you stop water going into the filter?
i curently have a pod with a cold air partition to block engine heat...but no direct cold air feed, and i thought a lil stealthy bonnet vent might help.
thanx in advance |

hey fro, whats happening
is your car turbo charged? if so i really wouldnt worry too much about water getting into the system, as soon as it passes the turbo it will turn to vapour unless of course you somehow manage to get a glass full in there at one time... Just keep the filter well oiled and really you shouldnt have any problems.
I have a ram air type setup which is actually located on the front spoiler, i've went through some pretty crazy puddles with no effect... really the amount of water required to lockup the engine is enough not really worth worrying about... just make sure your filter isnt sitting in any sort of indentation in the body work since water coming in can form a puddle... if thats the case probably a couple of holes will do the trick... |

i was thinkin either a lil vent like the pug 206 or the old style xr8...
my car is NA and has a didgey lil pod, i had heard previously that any water in there can cause serious problems...true or false?
do you know of anyone else who has exposed their filter? what were their results? |

simply rain is no issue for air intakes ... there is a reason some ppl use winter injection ... however, i have located my POD in my front bar and got it managed to half submerge my POD during road floods and she was all healthy
-------------------- WHOHOO ... got my opens today ... as much as it would matter to me anyway ... and 96 in the ash tray! |
