You will find that dates vary from place to place. In Japan they swapped over from GD1022 to GE model in 91 late 91 they generally stop production after they have gotten rid of all materials and major parts created for that model. Then the rest become spares. the 1022 became 1023. I don't know if it was used in the GE. but in the rare station Wagon they came out GV102087-88 GV1021-88-90 this included a 7seat model. GV1022-90-Jan92 (but could be DEC91) GV1023 (which my family has one 7seat ) Jan92-94 GV1024-1025 95-97 I am not positive if they went into 1025 but I have seen 1024 but Mazda do have 1025 on there Mazda Australia computer Database. Just checked it's GV11 they went too which is the similar to the Bravo reason they have very similar front nose on them.
The Wagon (GV) is the longest running chassis from the 626/Capella range. They use the same floor pan as the 626/mx-6 but had the widest range of motors. but did not carry the 1.8L 16Valve that the 626 did. The had 12 valve 2.2L Turbo 2.2L 2.0L 2.2L supercharged. In 16Valve they the 2.0L FE3 only ever seen one and 4WD 7Seat 2nd from top range. The other had option of 4WD or FWD and 4WS. Interiors were a harder version of the 626 range but top range did carry the soft stuffer velour as well but only in the front seats. 7seat came with very hard to find space saver 15inch wheel. Only 10KG and kept the 7seat just 25KG above the 5seater. In Australia most were fully optioned an a Mix between the Top range Mx-6 and 626 but with out the soft materials and buttons that make the luxury/GT version a little more special. ABS was a factory option but I found none into Aus with it fitted. at a Cost in 92 of $5000 on top plus the wait. It was not popular. In 94-95 they changed the front and removed some of the good extras that original had. Just like how the Mx-6 before 90July had full options but later models did not.
You may wonder why I am talking about the Wagon and not the Mx-6 but as both came of the production line next to each other where as the 626 came off the other line. Wagon also had stronger bit in it's driveline standard. This I am not positive but most have said this to be true. Most of this information is from Mazda Australia and other people who have worked for Mazda. They have helped me a lot.
You can look at the Wagons improvement and changes and see the same in the Mx-6. We Wagon sold along the GC’s end GD’s and the GE’s Early Wagons have the same early grill as 626’s, same wheels and colors. In 92 they were given the Last Capella grill which is very popular and rounded. Colors matched the GE’s but had a different silver instead it was platinum and came with some what peral or blue/green effect in the paint. How do I know because I can’t find any car from Mazda of similar color other then the RX-7 of that year S6 (3Rd gen) to have the same effect. Most were autos. 7seats in Aus were only available in auto and had limited options.
So 91-92 it does not matter. but Mazda in Japan say 91 is the end of the 1022/1st gen and 91 is the start of GE 2nd Gen but the months overlap.

Yeah well cars are like my well I know enough but it all crosses over with planes and trains. I more about trains and planes in a way but as for performance on Planes when working for Qantas that's when you know about Power and Performance, Enough thrust to throw a 20tone truck 50meters from one 747 engine HO HO HO HO Real Power. Becuase a MAN can never have enough Power.
Ever want to know aout most performance machines I know about it. It happens to Students who go to a car crazy school where Hot4's Street machines and Playboy are on the reading list.

As far as I know, in Australia the 1st gen finished at Nov 91. In the USA the 1st gen was available until 93.
