Tried to start it and the keyboard lights started flickering, then BANG, a puff of smoke and ahh f**k. Ive taken out the power supply and will buy a new one tommorrow and fit it. I just hope It hasnt fried the motherboard or something else

MY PS nuked on my brand-new uber ninja system i built. Sparks and all. Got one from my file-server box and everything was fine.
Im prity sure most supplies have plenty of built-in protection and sh!t.

| did you sort this out? usually you can score power supplies second hand quite cheap... $10 or so... but even brand new ones will only set you back around $30.. see if you can get one with some decent power if your runnin quite a few drives and shit |

I ended up getting a 400w power supply 45$. Found out it fried my 2nd hdd. It was an old one though, not much on it. I was lucky the main hdd was ok. Had to fiddle around with xp but its all sorted now
