Hi,
Over the weekend my car gives out a HSHSHHS sound rather than normal turbo Wshhhhh sound. The fuel cut also came at 7PSI rather than 12PSI. I inspected my turbo, and it turned out my Throttle Body Boot had a few crack and air leaks out. I phoned FORD and being quoted $139.00 for this boot! Very expensive!!!
Hey found a website written by a person name BOKI highlights the TX5's typical problem and fixit. Check it out:

that is pretty funny, coz there is a mx6 in perth which has 180 at the wheels with only a EMS exhaust and i think bout 12 or 14psi of boost, stock engine stock turbo.

and as far as the TB boot a know a few ppl who have got metal ones made up so they need to worry bout it anymore. should get a price coz even one from a wrecker that is in good nick there's no saying how long it will last. could end up having to replace it again in the not to near future.

Hey Guys,
I finally found one in quite good condition from MazdaWrecks in Midvale (Perth) for $55. I guess I have no complain because I rang around and not many wreckers have it.
As for using metal piping as substitute for my throttle body boot, do you know who in Perth does this kind of job? Roughly how much is it going to cost me?
cheers, |

dont bother with metal piping or if ya gonna do it ya dont actually metal pipe all the way to the throttle body instaed use a silicon joiner and clamp it at either end..it looks much nicer and is also much more effective than the constrictive tb boot

ovaboost performance in malaga might be able to help or ask an exhaust shop, and yeh the silcone joiners are a given coz u wouldn't want to weld the pipe to the TB.

Magic Engine Gel on the Xado website, where is that located exactly? I've found the cylider gel and all the other stuff. Would you recommend it for 190,000k'z?

do you think the dark tint on the lights would look darker or lighter on a silver tx-5 than a white one? and did you do it yourself?

Hi Gombatron,
I'm not too sure whether it will look lighter or darker on a silver tx5. But I sprayed it myself with a dark window tint spray (which you can buy from car accessories shop) 3 light layers. So you can use your own judgement to spray it, it is it too light, you just keep continue spraying another layer. But don't go too wild!!!
cheers, BJ
