dun know about you guys but ive been pretty lucky, only recieved a few defects in my time the first time was my good old first car a 1972 TA22 Toyota Celica man we got pulled over @ night the car was fully searched and they missed about 10 defects not to mention the drugs stuffed under the carpet that they missed by about a mm and they only gave me a yellow defect sticker for an oil leak...easily cleared up with some degreaser and a visit to my trusty mechanic the other time was in my GTi where i got pulled over and the cop gave me a yellow sticker for my tinted rear tail lights..i hit them with the tail light tinting spray can, looked sweet except for the cops.. fuk it took alot of elbow grease to get them back to a respectable level...the defect was cleared and the good thing was afterwards they still looked tinted lol stupid cop defected me for the lights and missed the fact the windows had 5% tints on them(thats another story i dun recommend tints this dark..they look sick but at night its quite hard to see out ur windows especially in low lit areas)not to mention a number of other defectable things goin on. apart from that i dun think i had any other defects apart from maybe one for bald tires i cant remember...quite lucky considering all the illegal things that were happenin with or thrown into my cars

Well my latest defect was in my celica and as you can see by the pics just click the link below
I have numerous amounts of defects happening where do i start hehe but the only ones i ever got done for was Single Wiper Blade Too Low Air Filter ( Which i still cant understand why it is illegal)
All this was cleared by my mechanic in approx 10mins LOL but i urge all readers in this forum to thoroughly inspect my car and post what you think could be defectable hehe.Defect Pictures

I hate hearing Defect storys make defective you suffer I live in Defect capital, I have defected on cars but never had o remove a defect. I know how to beat the system but, for Guys like you Tasty you would have o loose your plates somthing you don't want to do. But make it legal never get defected. I know all the things they can defect you on. I only have a Turbo timer they can defect me on. Yes they are defective, hard to explain why but simply you take your key out car engine should stop turbo timer does not allow it so it's a defect. Air/filters on EFI cars that remove the Air Box simple defect. unless you have Engineering papers Defect Defect. Want to stop Defect's know what's defective Talk to me I know them all. Just as rule if you get pulled over and you have no Cat or something big never let them take you to a RTA inspection it will kill you. In fact I know of cars that should be off the road but look normal or safe to you. Some of the Laws and rules Sux but then again if we had better laws on cars and rego that made it fair we would not have to worry about defective cars. Tasty you car is defectable it's not funny, keep everytihng above 100mm and you don't have problem with it being low, single wiper You stuffed with that. and a emisions test will fix the air filter. One Day a Cops wil lsay full RTA inspection and your gone.

i was thinking about punching out my cat.. apparently that can improve turbo spool... i mean i was thinking cats dont have any effect after what 5 years of usage? dont they some being effecitive so i figure you wouldnt pass and emissions test either way...

As long as the car is not written off I don't really care about Defects I just hate hearing people who have some SSS dropped ilegal and go on about it but i also hate cars that are very defective and still on the road.
You old man has proberly gotten letter from my old man and his organizations or similar. My old man has former Fed agents for friends, worked with the former police comissioner, not close but some what mde him look better. But hes got nothing to do with Cars or RTA, Mind you The RTA i don't like them, they don't like me either. I just hope you never worked at Campise or Beverly Hills RTA centers.

I've been defected a few times.
I got defected in my dad's AU falcon. Bone stock, brand new and they defected it.
I agree, keep it legal. But also up here in Darwin with the way the laws are made, if the cop is in a bad mood they can defect you for whatever you want.
I have had a few defects on my cordia, and gone to the MVR and they have ripped the sticker off without even looking at the car. Because they know that cops are hard on young car enthuists.
But I also think that people with riced up lancer's etc that sit so low they can't get over speed bumps shouldn't be on the road. And the owners shouldn't bitch when they get defects.

Well, i think that when i know someone who gets defected cause his lights where too blue and his windows a little dark, but i get pulled over at the same time and get OKed with darker windows and Nitrous lines running into the engine and a mounted bottle in teh back. All because i was polite to the cop adn my mate was... not...

lol funny shit droopz..
yeah i agree.. your attitude towards the cop really helps out in most situations... sometimes the have had a hard day and just feel like off-loading on you which really sux..
fortunately i've never been pulled over for a roadside inspection.. ive been pretty damn lucky since i have a pod filter/bov and now a new turbo thats not to say that i dont drive.. i clock on quite a few.. but in reference to other situations were the cops have pulled me over.. i could have been fined numerous time but have most of the time got off by being respectful and polite...
there was this one time tho were this absolute bitch cop pulled me over for idling over a stop sign in a back street one dead afternoon.. lost 3pnts and $200 for failing to come to a complete stop.. i technically did break the law but jesus.. you guys dont understand how bloody slow i was travelling when i was checking both directions... looks like she was wait there for ppl to screw up... |

Iv'e been defected for not having an engineering certificate for my extractors in my cortina. The funny thing is, that's all they got me for, they could have got me for a few ore things, I think?
Who knows, I guess it depends on what mood the copper's in, right?

Man the cops over there sound like a-holes. I can't believe you get a ticket for being too low. Your cops would be like giddy little school girls around me, there are all kinds of vehicles that are so low the plate is bent from scraping the ground, I see sparks a flyin on the highway all the time.

funny to go over this topic but I recently had a feild day with some idiots had an arguement over cars= basicly I knew what Iwas talking about they didn't= EG they think if you put a BOV it gives you 40Kw's and at the wheels
Anyway cops came by they all got done cops looks at my car under the hood looks at me says nothing. Walks off, comes back RBT's me and then I go.
It's all about attitude plus it's hard to do anything when you have a history of gettign lots of them suspended and demoted

yeah i agree with the attitude.. some ppl are just asking for it when they come across a copper.. but then again its pretty much up to the cop.. if his has a shit day or if his just a sadistic bastard there really isnt anything you can do... but act kind and hope to get off easy |
