2000 Pontiac Trans Am (V8) ?
I HAVE!~!!!!!!!!!!!
doing little tuning on the way to work today and on the way home lined up at a light with a nice silver one....nice rumble out of the dual exhaust to.
revved on it, light changes stayed almost dead even, hit 2nd, heard my tires spining and still pulled about 1/2 a car, 3rd gear I was gone about 11/2 car lengths and then I heard a horn honk from the TA and shut down..
Car is running GREAT though above 6k it didn't really feel right still have tuning to do above that.
At first I thought the new cams sucked, now I am starting to like them

red what sort of v8's do those things have, would it be an ls1 by any chance? (5.7litre chev? engine), those things pump out like 250kws here in std form... pretty powerful... stock figures for the vt ss cars they come with here pulling 14.6's down the quarter
meh.. i ate a mildly worked gtst skyline the other day.. nothing special but it was fun
btw.. moving post to kills section |

That is one of the few cars I haven't really read up on
But from what little I have heard......I want one!
To me it won't be the same as they used to. One of my ex's dad had a GTO Judge, that was one bas ass car that only ran on Av Gas

HSV (holden special vehicles) advertising blurb is "I want one" check out their site at http://www.hsv.com.au Look at the gts coupe and GTO coupe. Wish I could get one of them.

mmmmMMMMMmmm looks great! wouldnt mind one of them there hsv commo's, do the manaro's actually have the same spec engine? 250kw's isnt it?
well red if your flogging low 14 second cars then id say its running pretty well, how much boost are you running on the stock mx6 turbo? i dont think they would be any good for over say 200hp (or so), or do you have an aftermarket one? |

9 & 12psi + head that flows =
I believe the stocker on another FE3 ran 225 or 235 hp Not bad at all for a stock turbo. Keep in mind I am still running stock ic and piping also, well stock ic until this weekend.(hint, hint) I got the $$ for ic and piping but don't know when I can pick up the ic. Can we say "FUN"
And those 2 cars I will still stick with "I WANT ONE"

so what was it red 9 or 12psi
yeah with the stock turbo i was getting around 170hp with the stock ic and F2T block which i thought wasnt too bad.. i dont think it would be safe to lift the boost too much higher but 16psi would be ok if you have a good enough cooler imho... when i pulled off the stock turbo after a year or so of 14psi the bearing has pretty much no play at all, pretty amazing after 150 000km's but then again i suppose it could of been reco'd by the previous owner... (at least 3 years ago)
head flows sigh.... i need some bigger valves

9 psi all the time and for races
If I feel I am going to be close to them or maybe lose I just throw the switch to 12psi
