Not a bad lookin bay. One suggestion, get something like mesh or whatever to protect the intercooler, in the long run, you might not be able to see it but your intercooler will be greatful for no stone damage. Got any info on the gear sets? I seemed to have lost my power steering, speedo and cruise control, I've checked the speedo cable and its all good so I thought you may know. Cheers

that picture was my old-tx5 which is sadly dismantled but my new tx5 is getting there , trying to mount my cooler so i don;lt have to cut my bumper so its hidden,so far had no police troubles (no turbo badges car is standard height). With your powersteering check your any lights flashing on your dash , check your powersteering belt and powersteering level to make sure you have plenty of fluid, maybe you have a leak sumwhere.what i find is good when checking for leaks is : degrease your engine bay and then drive ya car and then jack it up and check for where its leaking.cruise control can alot of the time be the actual button or switch might be faulty or no power is getting to it , best to get the wiring checked or get an autoelec to check it out. With ya speedo you sure its not ya cable ive broken mine b4 , old'1 just snap very easily or pull out ya gauges only 2-3screws and have look to see if everything is connected. |

Can you send me pics of how you put the piping on you 87 TX5, from cooler to throttle body and cooler to turbo if you haven't stripped it already and what are you doing with the piping of the 87 TX5, thanks.

I Have a 1987 telstar tx5 turbo, and it has this saame set up with the sensor inside the large round restrictive air box, i can post pictures if needed, but i am guesing you's would know which 1 this is. Big and round, that has the top lif that goes on top of the sensor chamber, and has clips to clip onto the main barrel, and i want to fit a pod to this. Whats the go for this type?

on my old 87 tx5 i had the same filter but i just cut a 2in hole in the bottom and used sum piping going directly to front of the car and it work really good for cold air. if you really want to use a pod you will have to get sum piping that will fit you air flow meter and then get an adapter to fit your pod(autobarn sell these).

What sort of cooler did you go with? What was the cost? have you had to cut into the bumper or grille?

i'll get the details of the cooler and post them up, i removed my ac/fan , condencer ,receiver because my aircon wasn;t working any way and that made alot more room for cooler.their are 2 bumper brackets on either side which im in the process of cutting to allow my piping to run through.i was hoping to put the bumper on without having to cut it , but got no choice ,but im aiming to cut it on an angle so its more aerodynamic.also the powersteering cooler on my model is located right infront of the radiator so that was a problem for about 2mins , i made my cooler brackets long enough,so the cooler sits infront of the powersteering cooler but has 2-3in clearance.i will post more pics of bumper.
