As it stands the EPA *environmental pollution association* in conuction with Nsw Poilce and RTA *roads and traffic authority* Have stated that if they were really tough on vehicular emissions they could literally Stop all production of every motor vehicle company.

Testing on cars that have just rolled off the production line show that even if the car is new the pollution levels are high enough for the car to be rendered a health hazard, testing of the interior emmissions on from the plastic.

I verified this with my Police contacts and they said that usually in an operation or a sting where the whole suburb or road is on lockdown eg. Brighton Le Sands, the police literally escort offending vehicles to the nearest inspection station usually an RTA or a mobile van and begin DEFECTING and testing, all the while you must keep in mind that the OFFENDING cars are subject as offensive at the police persons individual discretion.

My Police contact also said they will have on hand and EPA officer for those PERSONS or CARS they feel they dont like or have been rude towards themor really have a legitament problem.

The EPA will subject the vehicle to EPA test and as i forementioned in the beginning even a new car hot off the press will always fail, what chance do we have?

the only respnse we get is a big phat RED sticker, a lock your car sir and then usually and arrest towards the driver.

FUCK!

It's all true but
you see I could pull up at one with a VY or BA straight out of the Box and go back to Holden or Ford and sue them for it. but any car with about 30,000ks can have a gone Cat converter. In Fact they go very easily.
Easy way of not getting put onto a RTA test is not attract the Cops in the first place. My cars was taken in Rockdale for a test went up one RTA guy looks under hood looks at the cop and say it's fine Bye bye. In msot cases they can tell a safe car over a gone car. I even once taken in a mates WRX but it was given all over checked it out safe all over but my mate got the shits and his mouth got to big so they emissions tested it and said it was not right. Of course it later dropped.
Just don't be an ass and they won't bother. Keep the car to 100mm ADR rules
all pollution gear in place it's fine. What are they going to do.
Family Wagon has original Cat it's gone but who cares exhaust does not leak
and smells fine.

lol my intercooler pipe blew off ripping the oxy sensor cable completely off... also popped the internals of the sensor so i have exhaust gas leaking into my engine bay ohmy.gif will get it replaced in a fortnight smile.gif

as far as the cats concerned i understand yeah after around 30000km's they can start to have no effect on emissions... my factory cat for example is definately not working but i bet restricting the exhausts shit loads since i have 3 inch mandrel directly after it... so i suppose my question is there any problem with me guttin the cat? yeah i should replace it but i plan on doing that late when i score my dump pipe, custom manifold, so is there any legal difference between not having a cat and having a useless cat?

Well Gutting it out is like not having one it's big fine but of course how will they know
It all depends if you really want to risk getting caught. I would just rather buy a second hand cat from and exhuast shop that is bigger like one off a New V8 Gen 3 Holden they flow well and it may only have a few K's on it. that's the cheapest way with out a new cat.

yeah rod i might just fork out the cash and get a 3inch to suit the rest of the exhaust... bloody liverpool exhaust quoted me $300 just for a 3inch cat, seems a bit pricey, if any1 know's where i can score a cat cheaply let me know!!

there pretty expensive i paid $220 a few years back for a high flow for my GTi.
i reckon cheapest bet would be to go with the commodore cats.. all V8 models in the 90s had great flow dunno where you would pick one up cheap though...wreckers maybe
