damn healthy sized cooler i reckon..
i noticed a pretty big jump in performance by just exhaust wrapping my manifold as it was right next to my aluminium intercooler piping...
i imagine you had to do a 180degree bend after the turbo and then another 180degree bend at the front left hand side of the car to fit it.. hows the lag? |

Actually there is only one 180 it goes in the top hole where the stocker goes into front of car....and I cut the car so there is a bigger hole so it comes back in there also.
With my SDS system I can monitor the IAT in realtime, and I have notice a 25+ degree (F) drop in temp while boosting 12 psi.
Lag what lag? 5psi of boost right before 2k rpm

Here is the test mounting.......You can see I need to cut a little more of the bumper core to get it all the way up in behind the front clip. I won't be cutting the plastic on the fromt, just the bumper. And Yes I know it is not centered, when I cover the hole in the front end with the mesh you will not see it anyway, just looks intimidating right now.

looks great redneck
i will definately see if i can score one of those intercoolers on from some truck dismantlers/repairs in the area, looks like a great size even with the stock end tanks
have you measured the pressure drop with the new intercooler by any chance?
lol 5psi b4 2000rpm eh... sounds impressive might have to take the thing to the strip some day eh? |

I did not see the rest of your questions this morning. So I will answer them now.
No I did not measure the pressure drop on this one, but it can't be NEAR as much as the stocker. A friend of mine measured the stocker and it had almost a 3psi pressure drop across it

yes red your mates right.. i've heard that aswell... however it apparently only happens at above 15 or so psi, below that i've heard about guys testing the efficiency and finding it within the say psi when tested below 15psi, not a bad stockie.. but yeah not good for a turbo thats not too keen on running 17 pounds at the manifold and 20psi just after the turbo, high boost no good...
besides when i finally got my turbo on and the car was running like absolute shit i pulled off the bumper to get a closer look at the ic and the thing was split all the way across the top weld, split open around 1.5 inches wide and 5 inchs long, goes to show they werent meant for our type of boost |

btw what sort of diameter ic inlet and out tubes does it have? hard to find a cooler off a truck that size with decent smallish endtanks and small (read 2 - 2.5 not 4 like you small v10 ) inlet/outlet tubes. |
