I USED to work for Domino's pizza up here in the N.T. I was working the close shift one night which was like 5pm till 12am. And because I was doing this shift they company gave me a company car. It was a shitty Daewoo Matiz with go fast dominos stickers and lights on the top.
It was the last 2 delievery's of the night, I dropped off the first one and was heading to the last deliver. I was driving down a surburban street going a bit too fast when all of a sudden I saw a flash of a dog running across the road infront of the car. I slammed on the brakes and the wheels locked up, the car slid sideways and I knew I would roll it if I let off the brakes, so I started going down through the gears. I hit the side of a 85 falcon head on which made me do a 180, then hit an excell from the rear which made me do another 180 and came to rest on the side of the road. The car was fitted with Airbags and ABS, the air bags didn't inflate and the ABS didn't work.
The police said when they rolled up they took one look at the car and they thought I was dead. The skidmarks were 50 meters long. They said I would have been doing around 130km/h and hit the first car at 100km/h.
I maintain that I was doing 70km/h because a Matiz can't do much over 80.
But anyway, the front end was ritten off, the back was crumpeled and the window smashed. And the chassie was pushed in about 400mm. The matiz and the excel was written off and the falcon is still driving around to this day.
I didn't loose my job, but I quit a short time later. I still suffer bad headaches from smashing my head on the steering wheel. And I was never given any compo.
