| Im going to leave it too people who run either to see if thier is any REAL benifit in fitting a BOV or not, I've noticed HKS make a replacment ABV so is this the way to look (mod original) or look aftermarket? noise or not. This is the one thing my mechanic has left me confused about, |

bov vent air pressure into the atmosphere, that when u change gears your throttle boddy closes, and then the air is forced back into your turbo, cauzing it to slow down. your bov will vent this air, and lets your turbo then spool quicker after a gear change
rough outline but noise dosn't really make an efect except that in queensland i know they r illegal (noise pollution)
i am not to into the bov, but thats a rough idea of what it does
if anybody can help me out here please do

BOV's are really just to make a turbo last longer I know many turbo cars which run no BOV at all lots off boost and it does not effect power or performance at all. Yes if your say raceing on -off throttle half throtle it does help keep spool up to a point. SO it that case it's a performance advantage
PLumb back or Atmosphere vent It's a choce in AUs it's illegal due to ADR's and EPA but In the real world it does not matter asin most case you are going light ot light and vent or plumb back it's a choice.

Thankxs didn't mean to take away from your explanation
but I find mine with out one is like different for people who are expecting at noise but I can't complain.
at the moment I think you will BOV's getting cheapper and cheaper
I saw one for $30 bucks looked just like a Type 1 turbosmart
but Personally I like it when there is no BOv makes one killed turbo sound
