well if your talking aobut a 2JZ twin turbo no it's not worth it earlier turbos' have been modded to but nah. if the 3SGE or 3SGTE is your motor then look at the GT4 world rally cars to performance updates. 300HP is easy out of a late model GroupA GT4 celica. Strong motors but do have some bad points, but most things to get power out of them have been done.

even the stocko turbos out of the gt4's are quite large considering the size of most 4 cyl factory turbos..
so i take it your considering adding a turbo to your car? maybe a better option would be a transplant.. how much are you thinking of spending? |

this is what got me interested in giving my celica a boost Turbo Celica
like most modifiers i want maximum power for the cheapest price, but i dont want to run into too many problems, so as for the cost side of it i could afford to get the gt4 engine put in it but for the cost involved im not sure whether it would b worth it or not

on that model Celica ,it's hard ot say if you love celicas I would say buy mid model GT$ GroupA edition they ahve Water-air intercooler and geting good pwoer out of them is easy.
but if you like the celica you have or that model, you might want ot find a a 3SGTE either out of a MR2 or GT4 and mate is with a FWD gearbox but I can't tell you how strong they are. i's always cheaper to buy it factroy turbo if it's avilable.
THe swap on Aussie models i think is almost straight compare with Us models. most sodle here were factory Twin cam 16's and turboign them is a nice idea but at this age is cost more as they do need a good internal going over. Anyboost any they will soon be blowing oil.
So have a think about what you really want to achive before spending anymoney
