Hi all. I own an 86 AS TX5 2ltr turbo. Its the CPI(center point injection) type. Anyway I've searched everywhere to try and find out exactly what size/type of turbo my car has. Im pretty sure its an IHI but what size would it be? Asking cause I want to upgrade and I'd like to know what Im upgrading from so as to make a better choice of turbo upgrade.
Any help would be so much appreciated. Also does anyone know of any forums or car tech for the 86 TX5 turbo model. I cant get my hands on a car manual for this engine and I've searched the World hehe. I only ever find info on the 88 TX5 turbo and up.
Mods fitted so far are as follows:
turbosmart supersonic Type III BOV
turbosmart FCD (Fuel Cut Defender)
turbosmart Dual stage boost controller
4in cold air induction piping
various autometer gauges, ie boost, shift light
Plans are to fit a suitable 2nd hand Intercooler but Im still deciding which type to buy.

hi i have a manual for my 1985 telstar tx5 that suits all models from 1983 - 1987 it doesn't have anything on the turbo models but its a start on most of the car  |
