Just wondering if anyone here has or knows anyting about the SDS system. My bf has it on his 89 DX-Fe3...which I will be driving soon! I'm just doing some reading on them and I know that he is in the process of fine tuning it. So does anyone have it? or know anything about it?
Thanks, Mel

BTW you wouldn't happen to be Luke's girlfriend would you?
Cause if you are, I am the one that hooked him up with the guy that sold him the SDS for cheap. And I mailed him the booklet for it

I don't think the manual is that hard to understand :shrugs: Just think of it as giving a numeric value to how much fuel gets injected for temp of the motor, for rpm reading, for boost level and it crosses all of them to supply an amount of fuel. Then you also program the timing for rpm and maifold pressure..and it crosses those to get the correct timing.
Now you can change those values every 250rpm. and you can also put in a fuel cut according to rpm, manifold pressure and throttle position.
So with the right programming (I have done this) you can make this the weakest car on the street for ex: when you take it somewhere to have someone work on it.
Then when you get it back, return your setting to what you had them before, and blow the doors off of a mustang or camaro!
This is also how I got my car to pass emissions testing. I failed at first just to see where the car was, then tuned it to about 18% lean and it passed like a champ!

The fe3 is NA for now...or until we can gather up some more cash...guess that means my lude will be put on hold for now.
Lately he has been hving some difficulty with the SDS...he has ben having a bit of trouble with the system and has finally unhooked the VIC system and now it runs better but hass much less power. Tomorrow we are gonna try and figure it out...I get to drive this beast everyday now and I want the full power!!!! Muahahahah!!!!!

This thing puzzles me. THe problem is that he and evo626 are the only two that I know of who are running NA fe3's...so everyone else's numbers are going to be different. I wish that I was smarter to help out....or maybe even fix the problem...but thanks for trying!
Mel

Is he still having problems?
Check Hal sensor alignment.....
Check the gap from the hal sensor to the magnet.......
Check to see if the hal sensor is vibrating at the given rpm.......
any of these things will give him his stated problem.
Trying to help...

Hey all. I was doing a goole search and saw my name come up. Thanks again REDneck for hooking me up. The sds is great. The problem with the vics is a simple fix, it needs some diodes installed in the vics wirining to stop the errs from happening. If you go to the SDS website you can find info on this. I used two diodes to fix the problem.
Wish I had a gf that would post for me . Anyway check out my car https://www.totalrpm.com/car/845 Thanks all evo |
