| QUOTE | with that turbosmart boost controller you can adjust what boost you have each gear right?.....just wonderin what you got yours set for.....and also your diff....is it standard single spinner, locked or lsd or whatever.
|
E-Boost can be set for up to three gear changes. Tho E-Boost 2 can be set for up to six. Mine is set so I need to push a button on the e-boost to control boost level. Haven't been bothered to set it for gear selection. My diff is the gt-4 viscous LSD, with the rear transfer case blocked off. Great for traction.
| QUOTE | | I don't think that for $20K his straight six turbo is only producing 220hp i estimate around 350hp plus. Do you always have to speak so harsh u little turd. |
First off I only talk harhly to morons that don't know what they are on about... "I" spoke to the guy, "I" saw his engine bay, "I" was beating him. NOT "YOU". A VL stock runs 87hp($0 spent), a vl stock with aftermarket ecu and 2.5inch exhaust runs 112hp($3000 spent), VL ecu, exhaust, turbo, intercooler and piping, runs 144hp($10,000 spent), VL ecu, exhaust, turbo, intercooler and piping, forged pistons and rods, runs 160hp($14,000 spent), VL ecu, exhaust, turbo, intercooler and piping, runs 144hp($10,000 spent), VL ecu, exhaust, turbo, intercooler and piping, forged pistons and rods, cam shaft, boost controller(10psi), mini-spooldiff, runs 180hp($15,150 spent), After that I don't know what the one i raced had done but this is a list of what a friend of mine has done with his VL Calais. As you said it is a straight six(with single cam) not a V6, so that would account for the lack of power. To give you an example of single cam to twin cam power differance, I shall use the beloved Telstar, the telstar turbo that is realeased around the world can produce 110hp from factory, with exhaust, air filter and boost, 140hp. There is an american (i think) twin cam version available, though rare, that produces 140hp N/A from the factory. So in future low tx5 please refrain from commenting shit, especially if you don't know what it is your commenting on...... YOU LITTLE TURD! |

ha, turbo timer isn't hooked up yet. had it for about a year but had an over heating prob so no point in setting it up but i have now fixed that so i got to get some time to set it up. Clutch is a 9 puck super heavy duty, brass button, high tension springs, blah blah blah, LOL, which all equates to instant grab and the need to do weights, to push the clutch in(my mum can't push my clutch in at all). With stock flywheel. Havn't had anyone ask to put my car in any magazine. Though I would welcome the opurtunity to have some one do a full photo shoot with it. |

| Can I be honest shadow I fucking love you car you've done a lot of work to it..but theres still probably a million and one other cars out there that could thrash the pants of yours..so why brag about what you've beaten...i mean hell ive beaten a skyline etc.. etc.. you also ahve to look at value for money..you beat a vl turbo right so he probably brought the car for 7grand spent 20 on it so for 27 he has a car that goes nearly as fast as yours yet you probably brought your car for say 14k (just guessing) and spent a further 20 on it so you spent 34k approx on yours whilst he spent 27k if he put the other 7k you spent into his car he would most probably flog the pants off you boost probelms or not...am I right?? so before ya go saying ya beat this and this car remmber how mcuh you've spent compared to them and how much pwoer they have compared to you... |

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Carsales.com you belive that bullshit, your dumber than I thought. My friend had a VL non-turbo it now has a VL turbo engine. those figures i STATED are what we have achieved using a dyno and a microtech ltx-12 at ovaboost performance in perth (give em a call if ya want). Go to Calaisturbo.com.au check there power figures. Fuck your a stupid bugger, but your a good laugh.
Zorb i do think as you say, compare money spent. My car cost $3000 to start plus $17,000 for power, so therefore total of $20,000. so thats y i put foward what i've beaten to give other people who want a fast car another option than spending bulk money on an already fast car. spend safe, spend smart. but thanks for your comments anyway. |

| okay well for 20grand I'd say you've got yourself a realtively fast car no questions asked..but really lets be honest who cares what you've beaten..the guys could have backed off you could have had a rolling start they could have had a boost leak too..it basically means nothing..unless its occured in controlled conditions..but annyways like I said I lvoe the car love what you've done to it..but bagging other people on here is just not worth is especially when they end up spending 20garnd on there car dropping an fe3 in it and turboing that for bout 11grand (plus 5 for the car) and getting approx 170-180kws atw ona car similar in wieght to yours..I mean have a look at a guy called robs tx5 on boostcruising.com if you need proof. |

Well for me bragging rights are mine, due to it's not just one single car i have beaten in one single drag, it's multiples of both. Hell i've spent enough money, I deserve the right to carry-on like a chook with his head cut off. I totally agree with putting in the fe3, it's a smart choice, my friend is considering doing this conversion. GO THE TWINCAM. It's a pity the engine is rare and didn't come standard.
It just annoys me that peoples whole knowlage base is derived from websites that in all fairness has the same credibility as george w bush. I find this type of information only a vague represention of the truth. in other words it gets you part way, but still doesn't give a full picture.
Just a question now... Does anyone know how much a gt30r turbo is going for in the eastern states of aus. in perth it's $2k. retail. |

| Ive also see a twin t28 set up on a fe3 the are quite easy to get now in OZ come up on ebay probbaly once every 3 weeks and god for between 800-1200bucks they also are available on many websites such as mx6.com for the same sort of rpices (2 have been on mx6.com in the apst month or so) so if ya kno where to look they are readily available...the engine did come standard in the capella (which was available in new zealand) and can be brought from new zealand for approx tthe same price..if you knwo where to look there not that fiar..on the gt30r cheapest Ive seen one here in melboure is 1300 and it required a rebuild Ive seen other for around the 1800 mark. |

Nice work there dude, ive put a 3sgte in my 93 Camry, similar mods, made 420Nm atw and 210hp but the dyno didnt know the rpm. (dont know how you can calculate hp without rpm, dont think you can) but it kicks ass. how much torque did you make and at what rpm? my car is on cardomain.com as "93camrylunatic", check it out some time. Where are you from, im near wollongong, be good to have a cruise some time, id love to run another 3sgte camry. keep up the good work. L8r

Hey 93camrylunatic, Sweet ride you have as well mate. Don't know about the torque the dyno sheet is buried under a mountain of paper work at my desk. and i'm too slack to look for it. LOL. That's near sydney yeah? I might be transfering to Coffs Harbour for work and if so the camry will be coming with me, so I guess seeing another turbo camry would be great. LOL. My camry is waiting on the latest mod ATM. A PWR aliminum radiator with 40mm core. Also me and a mate are making up full fibreglass door skins, to house my rockford dual component splits. my boot install has been completed just waiting on arrival of a 1000Wrms amp. Got 2 CDT 12in subs. flip up floor amp rack with carpeted cover. space for a rear battery and cap. just need that amp and i'll be laughing. once those bits are completed i'll have to decide whether I do a exterior re-vamp or a 400hp engine build. God that's a hard choice, both will cost about the same. Has anybody seen a SV21 with a subtle body kit that doesn't look like a kleenex box??? haha. I can make fun of my own car, cos it's MINE! LOL
