a cheap way to increase ur speed a bit is to get a new air filter in the shape of a cylinder cone sort of ... at the moment u should see a rectangle box on the bottom right corner when u lift up the hood.. this is your stock air filter, its not that good. its connected to a big pipe - u can install the new airfilter yourself. there about $30, and there a circular shape. unscrew the screw which is making the tight connection with the air filter and then take out that box air filter.. then connect your new air filter to the thick pipe, and make sure it is secure and wont bounce around when your driving. then tighten that metal band by tightening the screw. hope this helps you, it will make your car have better intake and thus a bit faster. ciao! |

your only really have 3 other options to increase your speed significantly, but they are very expensive and one of them is illegal! lol TURBO SYSTEM - may cost a few thousand to install and you will have to constantly maintain it. it will make the car a lot faster take off and accelaration, but it pretty expensive. i dont think it is worth that much money for this sort of car. UPGRADE TO V8 - i duno if u have v6 or v8, but the v8 engine is quite faster then the v6 one for obvious reasons. it will take up a bit more petrol and will cost alot to install (maybe a couple of thousand) but will give the car much more power NOS - very illegal in most, if not all states hehe! this will definately give ur car an advantage when dragging, but is dangerous on public roads. also pretty expensive too; it costs more then turbo.
So it is up to you, whether you want to put all your money into this car, or just save up for a newer car and better car in the future... have a look at hotsv1's profile (look at top 3 performance cars) on this website, and THAT is what u call a done up VN. you should ask him for advice if you want to know how to make your car faster, but it will cost you alot! my advice, get air filter and maintain ur car - your just gonna lose your license if you keep racing.. not that i would know from experience..c ough cough. hehe ciao! |

| get NOS .............? bigger ratio roller rockers, good Zorst, if its a VN pull the plastic bell mouth out of the manifold by taking the throttle body of and pulling out, improves torgue by getting better air distribution. You could go on with things to do, first try and work out a plan on where you wana get to, get things that will compliment like a exhaust and good induction system........? |

Yeh thanks guys, like i was thinking of putting in the VN SS cold air intake, chucking on exhaust, tinting windows. The VN S is a V6 by the way, i probably wont upgrade to v8 or turbo or NOS, but mayb if i cant let go of my sexy beast ill put a 350 chev may need a little $$$$$ tho haha! I want speed of course and a BEAST of sound u know!
WHat kind of exhaust do u reccomend????? i actually got picks of the car if u look in my member name "RainerZ". I love the VN i want to keep it but my mind may change as time goes on! |

| Dude you'd probably want a 2.5 single system for the v6. I also hear that COME racing in Melb are doing cam and chip kits now for v6s that are good. Forget the 350, it would be cheaper to put in an injected vn 5L, if you want more power there is heaps you can do to them. Does cost $$$$ if you can't do it yourself. Best way is to buy a smashed VN ss and swap everything over, BIG job. |
