I dont know to what extent the exhaust manifold is screwed, its most probably just the gasket... in any event i noticed a couple of days that my car had been producing loud ticking noises when cold somewhere around and below the 1st cylinder, left hand side of the exhaust manifold when facing it... its basically been getting louder and louder.... now my oxygen sensor was removed by some intercooler piping not being secured properly which left the entire o2 sensor section empty... i suppose having this leak in the exhaust combined with hard driving has caused the gasket to die as well....

I took off the metal heat shields today to get a closer look and feel of what i was dealing with... Exhaust gas is coming out from the o2 sensor section as well as the bottom left corner of the manifold so it does seem like a gasket leak at this point in time.... I also noticed that in the manifold on the bottom left side where its leaking there is a hole for a screw but nothing is there... there around around 3 other studs protruding through the manifold secured with nuts so it looks like this stud is missing and might be the cause of the leak...

anywayz im going to take the thing tomorrow morning to my local mechanic to see if a patch up job can be done, if its going to cost around $400 labour then im just going to screw fixing it and get myself a vf22, custom manifold, 3inch dump pipe and cat and run it at 7 psi until i can afford to get the thing tuned properly...

so if this turns out to be the case i need to know of a competent exhaust shop, performance shop that can fabricated this custom manifold for me, i dont want to spend more than around $600 for the actual manifold, otherwise i wont have enough cash to get the turbo, cat and dump pipe huh.gif

I will check out liverpool exhaust tomorrow to see what sort of figure they come up with.. hopefully i can get the whole thing done for around $1200 but i seriously doubt it...
