Exhausts on any turbo car give great performance increase, over factory fitted Items.
Reason Free flowing path for exhaust gases to leave by. In doing so this allow the turbo to spool up quicker. In most cars it allows the turbo to Run more Boost by have less restriction on the turbine wheel in the Turbo. This in turn allows the wastegate to hold more boost and not open early. Which is known as Wastegate Creep.
What Type well
2.25 inch Mandrel bent with free flowing Cat and new mufflers Samll but will keep noise down towards factory level inside and out. But will not offer great improvement in performance.
2.5 inch Mandrel Bent With free flowing Cat and Mufflers is a good choice for inbetween Noise and Factory level noise. But this will depend on what type of muffler you fit like most exhaust
3 inch ultimate Mandrel bent or not best for out right performance on a factory turbo any more would be a waste.
It will all depend on what type of Cat and Mufflers you use at the end of the day. to decide if it is as free flowing as it can be and how much noise it makes. Turbo's generally don't have much high pitch noise but do have a general drowning bass effect.
I suggest if you can't afford a Mandrel 3inch or 2.5 inch go for the 3inch Press bent
Straight through mufflers and of course free flowing Cat's

yup... a 3inch press bent would give a similar size around bends as a 2.5inch mandrel bent exhaust so if your on a tight budget i agree with rodhog. Now as far as which exhaust size is best it all depends on how far your willing to go. A 2.5inch mandrel bent exhaust would suit most ppl, this size is more than capable of facilitating the exhaust gas of the anything that can fit in the stock turbo housing. However if you really want some some turbo lag and decide to place on a larger turbo that start's boosting at around 4000rpm then you are going to need something along the lines of a 3inch mandrel bent exhast. A 2.5 exhaust is such a scenario will actually restrict airflow and rob you of a lil hp unfortunately.

Have to agree
If I were to plan on a bigger turbo 3inch would be the way.
Of course if you are on a budget go buy 2 old V8 exhausts of either HSV's or Stock Holdens weld them to fit your car or in my case we made it fit the ET, twin system
Oh yeah for the best sound just use no mufflers.

currently i have a 3inch mandrel bent system from the cat back installed on my car with a chrome dynoflow straight thru muffler. Nice rumbling sound, liverpool exhaust did an amazing job even they took there damn time doing it, i wait 6 hours for the thing to be completed mad.gif but from looking under it, it was a work of art. Got a few more psi on the way home, damn that felt good smile.gif
