congrats on the purchase mate
what sort of performance are you after? firstly since you just got it i would recommend a good service. Go buy urself some mobil synthetic S or 1, a new air filter if you need one, oil filter ofcourse, plugs, and check the condition of your leads.. also maybe look at a fuel filter if its looking old, they will set you back around $40...
One thing to note these cars were built in japan and imported as a low volume import and as a result expect high quality fuel. If you use 91 octane standard unleaded the engine management will retard timing which will drop the power rating to 100kw.. to get the full 108kw you need high octane fuel (must be 98ron, good ones are synergy 8000 and BP ultimate)... alwayz use this type of fuel, after a couple of tanks your computer will start using less fuel per cycle (since its more dense) increase your milage... as far as cost per distance is concerned the prices are pretty much the same from 91 to 98 ron even with the extra 10c...
Just from that your car should feel much more healthier and powerful.. if thats all already done then what you need is a boost controller to increase the boost to 11psi, its complete safe as there is fuel mapping within the internal ecu for up too 11.9' pounds... combine that with a good quality exhaust (3inch from the turbo) and high flow air filter you will notice an massive gain...

Thanks for the tips mx68u
All fluids levels and filters are in good nick. Recently done 2000kms ago. I sorta gathered using a higher octance fuel and currently either using optimax or mobil synnergy Have definately notcied the quality in fuels.
Recently just put 2.5" system with hi-flow cat and straight through magnaflow muffler. makes the ride alot smoother.
Im just after a bit more zip..... Ive heard adding boost controllers can be a bit technical but if you say running at 11psi doesnt effect then i might go for that? can you reccomend a good brand? Its not really for being fully sik i just enjoy crusin
Thanks for your reply and i shall have my profile up soon for you all to have a look at |
