Oh well learning about new cars is time consuming and can be a bitch, but definatly worth it. I spent soo much time researching the gti's before i got mine. Now i know my euros and my imports lol

FD FC R1 their all third generations. Honestly maybe you should look into gettin a second generation before going for a third. You seem like u have ALOT to learn about 7s. Which isnt a bad thing. But if you get a second, first off their cheaper to buy, insurance is going to be alot lower, and the 2nd 13b can be a bit more realiable. Didnt have a problem with either of the ones i've had. Have you even driven one yet? I got a chance to take my father's drag out on the road. And althrough it was alot faster. I definitly liked the feel of the 6 more than the 7. The money you save on gettin a 2nd you can use to fix it up. try to get aturbo if you fall in love w/the type of car you can always sell it and go 4 a third This is just my two cents |

nope, sorry, gotta correct you there, the FC is ONLY the second generation of rx-7s (1986-1991) and the R1 is only available for the 93. the R2 came out in 94. and i hate the thrid gens. i had a chance to buy one for 4700. car was good. but i hated it. so ugly. the third gen, is truly a work of art. heres ya a bit of info....... FD is short for FD3S. It is the chassis code for the 3rd gen rx7. SA series 1: 79,80 12a model 100hp FB series 2: 81-85 12a model 101hp FB series 3: 84,85 GSL-SE 13b(6 port) 135hp FC Series 4: 86-88 13b(6 port) 146hp FC series 5: 89-91 13b(6 port)(no such thing as a 92)160hp FD series 6: 93-95(North American)255hp Twin Turbo
what the 'R1' is, is a sport tuned suspension for the 1993 only. the 'R2' is the same but for a 1994.
haha! im learnin more and more! and also good to hear from someone else too! lol

I was reading the engine info on the redlines website. And it mentioned a 3rd generation 13B...so i just took it as there is a FC? I stand corrected ..my bad
