Don't know much about MGs' but found this while cruising around!

QUOTE
With all of the above work completed, Steve had an MGF that looked great, handled superbly and which could stop on a five-cent piece. But it still only had 86kW (118bhp) of power at the flywheel.

With more than a few Subaru and WRX parts floating around, though, it was inevitable that Steve would find a turbocharger for his ’F, and a 1994 Subaru WRX compressor was quickly allocated for the job.

But where do you fit a turbo on an MGF? Access to the engine - if you can call it that - is through a narrow channel at the front of the boot. But this really only allows enough space to check the oil and water levels and it’s through here that you top-up the fluids.

the rest of the article is below!

Hope this helps!

I am not too familiar with the mg f 1997 roadster either ... what sorta engine is it (size, compression, valves, etc). Also is there enough space to fit a turbo on ur exhaust manifold? If not you may consider a SC as an alternative ... will do teh same job ... and you have boost from teh word go icon4.gif

Im looking into that turbotechnics site right now, man your more enthusiastic than me..
I did find a guy in Melbourne who supercharges my model but he hasn't replied to the email i sent him yet..... It looks like its gonna cost alot more than I thouht.

Anyway I've got a bit sidetract when i saw a european model that had a 'thaihiti Blue' colour, man it looked good, so my friend is tring to find a similar colour for mine. (He owns a spray shop)

Apreciate you helping out, I let you know if i go ahead with it. And i'll get some pic's up soon.

I got a reply from that email i sent.....

"We have already done a trial fit of a complete supercharger kit for the MGF.
With the rapid development in forced induction system componentry we have already re-designed our kit to incorporate these improvements.
Our latest estimated price for a kit including integrated intercooling system with an estimated 70 - 80% increase in power $10,500 - 13,500"

80 % Should take me upto 200+ horse power but for that kind of money im probably better off buying an MR2 or something...

Mmmmmm to charge or not too charge?

$10,000..... 'frick' thats a bit of dosh! you could do some sort of turbo engine transplant and conversion for that much! or buy a whole car thats already turbo ermm.gif ! Guess at the end of the day, do you want to pay the money for something highly original... or do you just want a super charged car! unsure.gif
