Speaking of prangs..... what about fix ups.... i've got a skin crack in my front body kit, now the paint has now been chipped of and the crack is now about 8 cm long and a couple wide (but only a surface crack)..... so anyone got any ideas on how to fix it up.... ie fibre glassing?? anything new on the market??? the paint is easy to match up and i'm not scared to get a bit hands on.... so don;t suggest buying a new one. it doesnt have to look that flash just clean it up a little until i can afford to get a new front kit! ... u can see the crack in my first pic of my car!...??? any ideas would be appreciated

Well depending on the crak u can fix it with bog (which i love doing just to piss off some panel beaters as theyd ont like it as it si evil stuff), but if u have a full crack u gotta glue quite a few layers of fibreglass behind the crack to give the bar stability. then u can resurface the crack with sheets of fibreglass from the top side. make sure u rub all paint and primer and whatever else back (even the gel) before u place the sheet on top. the u gotta put the gel (dont ask what it is ATM, it is to prect the fibreglass from UV rays, water etc) and seal it from there it is priming spraying and buffing. The last bit is only if u have a major crack which looks like that ur bar is to break in half! otherwise bog is ur friend

other then the paint
I can tell you fixin fibreglass an carbon fibre can be a pain to get right interms o show or look. but I do recommend going out buying a Fibre glass repair kit from a hardware stor give you the lot those things. When working in the aircraft industries it was easy to get the stuff. But you can mak it easy as I did apply them skills to quite a few body kits in my time.
I recommend going from behind ? I know what your thinking but trust me limited layers on the painted surface is recommended. Take the bar off and join /fix crack from behind then once it's driey on that side look at the painted surface. Depending on how big it any crack is left and any pits missing cna they jsut be filled with resin and sanded back smooth. Plastic filler and the like from auto stores can be used quite well then spray and clear coat all done.
How many times done this, well never on a aircraft but many corolla's Rx-7s and WRX's amazing how many crack front bars.
