i am curious if anybody knows were i could get a long motor from? (f2t) for my tx5.
my engine is about to shit itself, it has almost 300,000 k's and my tappets r slapping bad, i have way to many oil leaks, manifold gasket leaks, my plugs r threaded into my block and won't come out ( i could helicoil them, y bother)
so i figure that a long motor would be the way. i think they r around $1000 dollars (aus), and will need it soon!
any help appreciated

hey 90tx5,
long time no see, as far as your leaks, HLA tapping noise and manifold gasket they can all be resolved in about 3 hours, assuming your leaks are isolated to the gasket. My car was actually leaking a little and it got progressively worse for the about 6 months until a corner of the manifold gasket completely screwed up which cause massive oil loss.
After replacing the gasket, cleaning the hla's all leaks were gone and so would of the tapping noise if i had it  , only took me around 3 hours so if you want to give it a shot before you forkout for a new engine ill write up a how to on it. At any rate its a good experience if you havent tinkered with the internals of an engine b4.
If you just wanna swap engines and cant be stuffed i would try mazford, i think there is one in qld, and also ichibahn, both places should have an F2T  maybe an Fe3 might be an option.. apparently there is no engineering required

Wreakers lots of wreakers
Want a good one try MAZFORD parts plus in Sydney at milpera expensive but they only keep the good stuff
Low k's too. There prices are only expensive compared with other wreakers.
They are not comon and alot have coped cracked heads from bad owners

plus remember i need to helicoil my head so...
i think a long motor is the right choice. and i also need a new master brake cylinder and a new clutch , thinking of a h/d daiken clutch???
