I traded in a Ford Courier crewcab on a Crewman last February. It's an "S" (V6) rather than an "SS" (V8) because the SS isn't rated to carry one tonne and would require Fringe Benefit Tax payment with logbooks.

The V8's mag wheels with low profile tyres causes that. But GM weren't about to simply give me the "S" mags on an "SS" to fix that. Since it's workhorse it has quite acceptable performance with the V6 and rides well. Also the fuel consumption is somewhat less thirsty than the V8. They are a quantum leap over the usual Japanese crewcabs.

I'm very happy with it but two problems have arisen with the driver's seat and I'm wondering if anyone else has them.

Beside the driver's seat on the right side nearest the door, there's a plastic panel (where the switch is for the power seat) and it broke away within a couple of weeks. So it just lays there held in place only by the switch wiring. Will get it fixed at the first service hopefully at 15,000km. Only done 9,000 so far.

The seat back has a problem in that every 20 minutes or so of travel I have to rotate the rake knob as the seat leans back ever so slowly. Drives me nuts and I just know that they'll test it for 5 minutes and claim there's nothing wrong with it. . . . and so it will go on.

Would be pleased to hear from anyone having similar problems - or any problems for tat matter.

BTW: I also have a 2003 Ford Escape and a 2001 LWB High Roof Ford Transit Van.

Thanks for the tip but the Holden Dealer (Ballarat Holden) Service Dept is unaware of any recalls on Crewman seats. Anyway I've booked it is for them to look at.
